This includes accepting the need for the highest standards of uniform, behaviour, being ready to learn and having the correct equipment every day. Our expectations are high and this because we want our students to always achieve their best.

Hello

We want to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves and welcome you to Quarrydale Academy. As the ‘Transition Team’ we work with your primary teachers, gathering information to make your transition as easy and smooth for you as possible, supporting you throughout year 7.

Transition is very important to us and we realise that for many of you it will be a worrying time, but with the current situation in the country, our normal arrangements will understandably change. We will do our best to accommodate our new pupils to the best of our ability and be reassured that we will be here to support not only students but their parents and carers too.

We will be in touch as soon as possible with more help and advice but in the meantime please check our website regularly for general information and updates about the school.

What are the steps for joining Quarrydale?

Step 1

Apply for Quarrydale

Submit an application to the Local Authority showing you wish your child to attend Quarrydale

Step 2

A List

Quarrydale recieves a list from the Local Authority of all applications for the new school year

Step 3

Ranking

Quarrydale ranks the list in order based on the “Admissions Criteria”

Place Offered

The Local Authority offer places to successful applicants

Step 5

Quarrydale makes contact

Quarrydale contacts successful applicants to tell them about transition information and welcome them to the Academy

Step 6

Transition Events

New students to attend transition events (information will be sent out by the Academy)

Step 7

Academy Starts

New students attend the Academy for the first time for the start of the new year (August or September)
