Drama:
Drama will enable students to think carefully about how theatre productions are created and performed in different styles and genres. Students will gain the ability to use acting skills and techniques to create a range of characters. As students move through the years of school, they will grow in confidence gaining both performance and presentation skills. Students will have the ability to perform in shows, know how to audition and have an understanding of the roles that make up a theatre company.
Music:
Music will help students to develop their listening, communication and resilience skills, as well as their confidence. Students will develop their listening, composition and performance skills throughout different topics. They will be able to use and learn many different instruments available the department, including keyboards, guitars and ukuleles

English:
You will learn to read and respond to a variety of texts, both fiction and non-fiction, and to develop informed and supported interpretations of the texts you read. In your own writing you will be encouraged to emulate the literary and linguistic techniques used by the writers you study, adapting your style to suit a range of audiences, purposes and genres. In addition, you will be taught to take responsibility for proofreading your work, ensuring accuracy of spelling, punctuation and grammar.

Geography:
Geography offers students the opportunity to study and learn about the changing world we live in. Students will examine the interactions and relationships between people and the natural environment through a range of themes and case studies. Students will build on the knowledge and skills that that they develop at KS3 such as O.S. map work and decision-making activities if they should choose to study the subject at KS4 and KS5

History:
History will enable pupils and students to learn about the past and enhance their knowledge and understanding of British and World history. In addition to learning about the past, studying history will also enhance pupils’ understanding of current affairs and the world we live in today. In addition to this, a study of history is very important because pupils master a number of transferable skills, such as research, interpreting information, empathy, reflecting on contrasting points of view and developing communication skills.

Subject Information
Technology:
Design and Technology will enable students to think creatively and imaginatively to enable them to design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts. It is an inspiring, rigorous and practical subject that encourages students to consider their own wants and needs, as well as those of others. Design and Technology makes links with many other areas of the curriculum such as Mathematics, Science, Engineering, Computing and Art. Pupils learn how to become resourceful in transferring their knowledge and skills across these areas.
