What will this subject enable me to do?
History will enable pupils and students to learn about the past and enhance their knowledge and understanding of British and World history. In addition to learning about the past, studying history will also enhance pupils’ understanding of current affairs and the world we live in today. In addition to this, a study of history is very important because pupils master a number of transferable skills, such as research, interpreting information, empathy, reflecting on contrasting points of view and developing communication skills.

Morals and Ethics
Morals and Ethics enables students to consider and respond to a range of important questions related to their own spiritual development, the development of values and attitudes and fundamental questions concerning the meaning and purpose of life. It helps promote pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development and prepares our students for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of the present and the future helping to overcome prejudices and negative stereotypes. If people have a better understanding of other faiths, they are less likely to be dismissive of issues that do not concern them directly. Better still, it promotes integration and a stronger sense of community.
