We provide our students with a range of opportunities, experiences and guidance to help them explore their interests, develop their skills and make informed decisions about their education and career pathways.

What are T Levels?

T Levels are an exciting two-year Level 3 qualification for students aged 16-19, designed in partnership with employers to prepare young people for skilled careers. They combine classroom learning with extensive workplace experience, giving students the knowledge, practical skills and confidence needed to progress into employment, apprenticeships or higher education.

A T Level is equivalent in size to three A Levels and is recognised by universities and employers across the UK. Students spend around 80% of their time in college and 20% on an industry placement, completing a minimum of 45 days (315 hours) with an employer. (West Notts College)

Why choose a T Level?

A T Level allows you to:

  • Gain a qualification equivalent to three A Levels.
  • Develop specialist technical and practical skills.
  • Complete a substantial industry placement with a real employer.
  • Build confidence and employability before leaving college.
  • Progress to university, higher or degree apprenticeships, or skilled employment.

A Distinction* grade carries the same UCAS Tariff Points as three A grades at A Level*, making T Levels an excellent route into higher education as well as employment. (Nottingham College)

Is a T Level right for me?

T Levels are ideal if you:

  • Have a good idea of the career sector you would like to work in.
  • Enjoy practical, hands-on learning alongside classroom study.
  • Want to gain real workplace experience before starting your career.
  • Are prepared for a full-time programme with high expectations of attendance, commitment and professionalism.

If you are still undecided about your future career or wish to keep your options as broad as possible, A Levels may be a more suitable pathway.
