At Quarrydale Academy, we believe that education extends far beyond the classroom. Our enrichment programme provides students with a wide range of opportunities to discover new interests, develop skills and confidence, and feel a strong sense of belonging within our school community.
Throughout the academic year, students can take part in an extensive programme of clubs, sports, trips and visits, competitions, performing arts, leadership opportunities, cultural activities and experiences beyond the classroom.
Something for Everyone
We want every student to find opportunities that interest, challenge and inspire them.
Our enrichment offer includes:
- Sport and physical activity – including school teams, recreational clubs, competitions, house sport and opportunities to represent Quarrydale.
- Clubs and activities – ranging from Japanese, chess and 3D printing to music, computing, darts and many more.
- Trips and visits – providing memorable experiences linked to subjects, careers, culture and students’ wider interests.
- Performing arts – including school productions, music, dance, theatre visits and events such as Battle of the Bands.
- Leadership opportunities – through our Student Leadership programme, including Prefects, Year and Tutor Representatives, Sports Captains and a range of student ambassador roles.
- Competitions and challenges – giving students opportunities to test themselves, work with others and represent the Academy.
- Community and cultural opportunities – helping students celebrate diversity, contribute to their community and become active members of school life.
- Careers and future pathways – connecting enrichment with employers, further and higher education and the wider world of work.
Developing More Than Academic Success
Taking part in enrichment can help students develop important qualities such as confidence, teamwork, communication, resilience, independence and leadership. It can also introduce students to new experiences and interests that may influence their future education and career choices.
We encourage all students to get involved and make the most of the opportunities available during their time at Quarrydale.
Our programme continues to develop throughout the year, with new activities and opportunities added wherever possible.
