Find important information about transition from Primary school to Quarrydale

Year 6 into Year 7

Every year, Quarrydale Academy is oversubscribed, receiving more applications than there are places. Under the circumstances, if you would like your child to come to Quarrydale, we would recommend that you list us as your first choice school.

Admissions to Quarrydale Academy into year 7 are managed by Nottinghamshire County Council. To apply for a place at Quarrydale or for more information on Nottinghamshire County Council’s school admissions procedures – click here

The deadline for an on-time application for entry into year 7 in September 2025 is 31st October 2024.

Decisions will be communicated in writing from the independent clerk, within 5 working days of the date of your appeal wherever possible. In-year appeals will be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.

Transition to Quarrydale Academy

We have very close links with our designated link primary schools. Each student in Year 6 will experience two full days at Quarrydale Academy doing a range of interesting activities. All children from non-partner primary schools are included in these arrangements.
