What will this subject enable me to do?
Media Studies will enable students to think critically about the media industry; how it influences them and how media products are constructed for their intended audience. Students will be able to create their own media products for a specified genre and format and outline how it will appeal to a given target audience. Homework and support: Homework will be set and will comprise of a variety of tasks including: internet research; viewing of and listening to set products and related products; taking photographs to use in their production course work pieces; and revising for assessments and examinations. Revision sessions are offered in the run up to the examination period, both before and after school; extra course work sessions will run after school if students need them; and a wide range of support materials for all topics covered can be found on the EDUQAS website.

Keystage 5
Students will study the EDUQAS GCE in media studies The structure of the GCE mirrors the GCSE course, but more theoretical content is introduced Homework and Support Homework will be set and will comprise of a variety of tasks including: internet research; viewing of and listening to set products and related products; taking photographs to use in their production course work pieces; and revising for assessments and examinations. After school revision sessions are offered in the run up to the examination period; extra course work sessions will run after school if students need them; and a wide range of support materials for all topics covered can be found on the EDUQAS website. In addition to this, A Level students will be offered individual tutorials periodically, such as after an assessment to receive one-to-one feedback.
