The first priority of Quarrydale Academy is safeguarding the well-being of our students. We are committed to the highest standards in protecting and safeguarding the students entrusted to our care at all times.
Safeguarding is the process of protecting children from abuse or neglect, preventing impairment of their health and development and ensuring they are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care that enables children to have optimum life chances and enter adulthood successfully.
A key part of the development of our Professional Learning Community has been to provide all our students with a safe learning environment that will best nurture their development. We know that the social and emotional issues of students have great impact upon the community, locally, nationally and internationally, and may create serious, on-going problems. Every member of staff at the academy plays an important role in prevention and early intervention programmes and activities to strengthen the resilience of students as they learn and develop into responsible and active citizens. All staff, through recruitment, induction and on-going training understand the importance of safeguarding and the contribution they make to ensure that our learners are kept safe.
