The Governing Body of Quarrydale Academy comprises 13 trustees (governors) and 4 members of the Trust Board, one of whom is also a trustee, who recognise that high quality governance is crucial to children’s education and life chances, and to holding Academy leadership to account. This is an important, challenging and rewarding role for anyone who cares about the education children receive and wants to make a different to the lives of young people and the local community.
The role of governors complements that of the Headteacher who is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Academy.
The governors of Quarrydale Academy have a range of skills to ensure key strategic decision making. They use data to provide both support and challenge to academy leaders and ensure effective financial management of the academy’s resources.
The full governing body meets three times a year and additionally conducts its business in termly meetings of the 2 committees – The Resources Committee and Education Committee. We meet with students, parents and the local community at events throughout the year.
The governors of Quarrydale Academy share the high expectations and aspirations set by the Headteacher and senior leadership team and are proud to be associated with Quarrydale. Its creative and innovative curriculum enriches the education and achievement of every one of its students in a happy and safe learning environment.
